Hey mann akkhan ton lah patti saman na aiven peya guzaar;
Atthe pehar maya de andar firda rehnan eyn bekar.
Vadda data bhull gya eyn datan de naal pa ke pyar;
Sood tan lena ik pase hai asal vi baithen apna haar.
Sut dara maape dhan daulat chhad javange aakharkaar;
Bhoot prêt kehnge ik din ral mil tainu mere yaar.
Koorh ‘ch jam pal koorh’ ch kheden koorh hai tere andar baahar;
Karam dharm jo sach toon samjhen hai eh koorha ik vapaar.
Bhog vasna de vich rul ke vissar baithan eyn kartar;
Eh man kade nahin nirmal hona baajh guru de kahe avtar.

O' my mind, remove the bandage of ignorance from your eyes, and do not waste the
precious time;
You are in vain engaged day and night in the material world.
Having clung to the material objects, you have forgotten their supreme giver-God;
What to speak of earning interest, you are losing even the principal.
Your son, wife, parents and wealth shall desert you at last;
O' my friend, a day will come when all of them will describe you as a ghost, an evil
spirit.
You were born and brought up in falsehood, you are playing in falsehood, and you
have falsehood within and without;
Even rites and rituals, which you regard as true, amount to a false trade.
Lost in carnal pleasures, you have forgotten God, the Creator;
Avtar says, this mind can never be purified without the True Master.

Meaning
Oh man, remove the band of ignorance from your eyes, simply do not waste precious time; Day and night you are running after materialism, which has no result. You are so much carried away in his givings, that you have forgotten the Supreme Lord, the giver himself; Leave aside taking the interest, you have even lost your principal. Your son, wife, parents and wealth will desert you at last; Oh my friend, one day they all will call you a ghost, an evil spirit. You are born in the world of illusion, you live also in illusion. Your human body as well as everything around it is also illusion (everything is immortal) hence the duties, responsibilities, rites and rituals that you perform as so much real, are also illusion. Lost in the fulfillment of physical desires, you have forgotten God, the Creator. Avtar says, this soul can never be purified without the True Master.
